Ayra Starr Names Wizkid the King of Afrobeats

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has declared Wizkid as the undisputed king of Afrobeats, adding fuel to the ongoing debate over who leads the genre among the so-called Big 3: Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.

Speaking in a recent interview with Complex, Ayra Starr said she chose to feature Wizkid on her hit song “Gimme Dat” because no one delivers sexy Afrobeats better than him.

She explained that the sound, chorus, and vibe of the track are uniquely Wizkid’s style.

According to Ayra Starr, his influence made the song perfect and cemented his place as the king of sexy Afrobeats.
