Kapa Kat Survives Spiking Incident, Urges Women to Stay Vigilant

Ugandan singer Kapa Cat has shocked her followers after revealing that she was spiked during a night out recently.

The “Sikyo” star shared the experience on her social media pages, explaining that the incident was serious and nearly cost her life.

She added that her intention is to raise awareness, especially among young women.

I was a victim of spiking (drugging) this week when I stepped out. It was a very severe and life threatening moment. This post is all about awareness.

In her message, Kapa Kat listed several safety tips, starting with the importance of watching your drink at all times.

Girl, never leave your drink unattended. Always keep your drink in hand or ask the bartender to watch it if you step away. Even a few seconds on a table can be enough for someone to tamper with it.

She also encouraged the use of drink safety tools to help detect harmful substances.

Use drink safety tools. Consider drink covers, test strips, or smart coasters that detect common date-rape drugs. They are small, discreet and add an extra layer of protection.

Kapa Cat went on to remind her followers to stay alert in social settings and to be mindful of the people around them.

Stay aware of your surroundings and companions. Avoid accepting drinks from strangers, and if you are with friends, look out for each other.

She concluded by urging women to share the message widely so that others can avoid similar situations and stay safe.
