Bebe Cool List Drama: DJ Nimrod Says Critics Can Make Their Own Lists
Veteran Ugandan music legend Bebe Cool kicked off 2026 with the release of his much-anticipated annual “Bebe Cool List,” celebrating the artistes and songs that made the biggest splash in 2025.
As expected, the list quickly sparked chatter, raised eyebrows, and even ignited heated debates among fans and industry watchers.
Many were particularly quick to notice the absence of two of Uganda’s musical giants, King Saha and Eddy Kenzo, who they feel had exceptionally strong musical years.
In response, Ugandan DJ, DJ Nimrod, has stepped in to offer some clarity on the situation.
He told Kawunyemu that King Saha and Eddy Kenzo did not appear on the list because they are currently not in good terms with Bebe Cool.
They are not friends these days. That is the same reason why King Saha is not on the list, because they are not friends. The list makes musical sense, although, as I have said, there could have been other musicians. King Saha should have been on the list because he has done really well this year. If Kenzo was left out, it is because of the fights they have had in the NRM and things like that.
Nimrod also reminded critics that Bebe Cool’s list is exactly that, his list, and encouraged anyone who disagrees to go ahead and make their own.
It is his list. Anyone else can go and make their own list. Though, as a musical giant, it affects the artistes and the industry, and that is why we are here discussing it… because it is Bebe Cool.
The discussion shows just how much influence the “Bebe Cool List” carries in Uganda’s music scene.
Every year it sparks conversation, celebrates talent, and occasionally ruffles feathers.
2025 was no exception, proving that Bebe Cool not only makes music but also shapes the story of Ugandan music itself.
