9ice Warns Aspiring Artistes About Spiritual Dangers in Music
Nigerian singer 9ice has made a shocking claim that the devil is in charge of the music industry.
Speaking on “The Nancy Isime Show,” the 45-year-old artiste said the devil is like a choirmaster, guiding many musicians into bad habits like smoking.
9ice, whose real name is Alexander Adegbola Akande, explained that music is spiritually deep, and many artistes face unseen battles.
He warned young people who want to join the industry to be fully aware of what they are getting into.
He said his beliefs are not based on hearsay but on personal experience.
According to him, the devil is the most powerful angel, and music is one of the ways he operates.
To support his point, 9ice shared a disturbing story about a spiritual attack he once faced.
Around 2009 and 2010, he said he began vomiting blood while living in his house. The situation lasted for six months.
It was not a medical issue, and doctors could not explain it, which eventually forced him to leave his home.
When asked how he got through that experience, 9ice said he turned to traditional African beliefs.
He revealed that he is not a Christian or Muslim, but a Babalawo, a traditionalist who follows the Ifa religion.
He said someone introduced him to Ifa during that difficult time, and it helped him find answers and strength.
Reflecting on this, he brought up Fela Kuti, who was often mocked for his visits to Ogun, the Yoruba god of iron.
9ice said that while people did not understand Fela’s actions back then, he now fully understands them.
Looking back, 9ice said he wishes he had discovered Ifa much earlier in life.
