A Pass Blasts Ugandan Awards: “They Have No Value”

Singer Alexander Bagonza, better known as A Pass, is riding high on confidence after a successful concert at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

Following the triumph of his big night, A Pass has made bold claims about his standing in the Ugandan music industry.

When addressing the long-standing dominance of the big three, i.e., Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, and Jose Chameleone, A Pass made it clear that, while they may have their place, he is the big one.

The “Tuli Kubigere” singer also had strong words about Ugandan music awards.

When asked if his concert is a contender for Concert of the Year and how he feels about local awards, he dismissed them as meaningless.

According to him, awards add no value to his career or reputation.

“There is no respect that an award adds to me,” he declared, emphasizing that true success comes from having fans show up in large numbers for a show, not from collecting accolades.

He believes artistes should focus on rewards rather than awards.

A Pass also questioned the credibility of Ugandan awards, claiming that some musicians go as far as hiring people to vote repeatedly just to secure a win.

For him, the real measure of success is not in plaques or certificates but in the support of his fans.
