A Pass Condemns Unauthorized Use of His Music by Politicians

As Uganda gears up for the 2026 general elections, aspiring candidates are actively laying the groundwork for their campaigns.

Amid the early political activity, singer A Pass has spoken out against the unauthorized use of his music by politicians in northern Uganda.

In a public statement, he disclosed that some political actors have been incorporating his songs into their campaign strategies without seeking his consent.

“It has come to my attention that some politicians in northern Uganda are incorporating my music into their campaign strategy as a means of outreach to the community. I have not authorized any of them to do so.”

He went on to caution his fans in the region, clarifying that he is not affiliated with these political efforts.

“To my fans in northern Uganda, please be aware that these individuals are acting on their own accord. As I gather more information, I would like to request that the politicians involved discontinue this practice.”

Despite the seriousness of his message, some online commentators responded by mocking or downplaying his concerns.

In response, A Pass doubled down on his stance, stating that he had made himself clear and had no intention of debating the matter further.

“I made my point. If you lack the cognitive ability to comprehend what I said, I am not responsible for your lack of understanding. You type nonsense, I block you. I do not have time to exchange words.”
