A Pass Says No to Paying for TikTok Challenges, Believes in Organic Hype Only
These days, many musicians pay TikTokers to start challenges using their songs as a way to promote the music and hopefully make it go viral.
The trend has worked for several artistes, and it is one of the reasons TikTok is now seen as one of the most effective platforms for music promotion.
But despite the many success stories, singer A Pass has made it clear that he has no interest in going down that path.
“I do not want my music to move that way. I want my fans to genuinely vibe with my music and create challenges for it. A TikToker can also create a challenge because they like the song, not because I paid them,” he explained.
Beyond the social media platform, A Pass also refuses to pay DJs to play his music.
“I cannot pay a DJ, a TV station, or radio station to play my music. I have never done it, and will never do it. If you like my music, play it. If you do not like the music, that is also okay,” he emphasized.
A Pass went on to say that even when you pay a DJ to play your music, there is a high chance they will only do so when you are physically present.
