Abtex Defends Biggie Events in Payment Dispute with Sebatta, Urges the Kadongo Kamu Legend to Stop Demanding Money
Events promoter Abbey Musinguzi of Abtex Promotions has weighed in on the ongoing dispute between veteran Kadongo Kamu singer Lord Fred Sebatta and event organizer Biggie Events.
Sebatta alleged that he had not received the full payment agreed upon with the events promoter for his December 2024 concert at Kampala Serena Hotel.
In a recent statement, Abtex appealed to Sebatta, urging him to show understanding and empathy towards Biggie Events, who is currently struggling with financial difficulties after hosting the concert that marked Sebatta’s 42 years in the music business.

According to Abtex, the agreed-upon payment for Sebatta was 110 million Uganda shillings for three shows, but the promoter managed to pay 78 million shillings.
Despite this shortfall, Abtex believes the money he received is still a significant amount.
He also emphasized that Biggie Events invested a lot more into the event and is now facing substantial debts.
Abtex acknowledged that Biggie Events has played a key role in the music industry, often paying artistes well and organizing successful shows.
“Biggie Events is one of the promoters who pays musicians a lot of money for shows,” he said.
However, he pointed out the difficult position the promoter is now in and that she is considering stopping event promotions.
He highlighted that many people depend on promoters like Biggie Events for their livelihoods, from artistes to staff, and if such promoters stop organizing shows, it could have a devastating effect on the industry.
In his appeal, Abtex asked Sebatta, as a veteran artiste, to show gratitude to the promoter for organizing the concert.
He reminded Sebatta that the 78 million shillings he received was a considerable sum, and given the financial challenges the promoter is facing, a little understanding could go a long way.
Abtex concluded by urging Sebatta to refrain from demanding money from Biggie Events.
