Abtex Opens Up on President Museveni Offer and Government Role
Uganda’s events scene has found itself brushing shoulders with State House, and promoter Abtex is right at the center of it.
In recent months, the outspoken President of Promoters says he and others in his field have been meeting with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni since December 2025 to push issues affecting Ugandan promoters.
He says the President assured them he is ready to stand with them, including offering financial support.
Last week, however,things took a surprising turn.
After their latest meeting, Abtex revealed that Museveni asked him to work with him in government. And yes, he said yes.
Still, he openly shared his concerns about his education background.
He also requested a brand new car to help him move around and carry out the President’s work effectively.
I am ready to work with the President, but I do not want to be taken to Parliament for cross-examination because I stopped in Primary Three. I also asked for a new car to help me do the President’s work.
From backstage at concerts to meetings at State House, Abtex’s journey now seems to be moving beyond the entertainment world and into government corridors.
