Acidic Vokoz Speaks on Why November 1 Jinja Concert Was Postponed
After the massive success of his “Ndi Musoga” concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala on August 30, 2024, Ugandan singer Acidic Vokoz excited fans by announcing the “Ndi Musoga Festival” for November 1, 2025.
This time, the event was planned for Kyabazinga Stadium in his hometown of Jinja. However, it did not take place.
Speaking to Galaxy TV, the “It’s Okay” star explained that they had chosen the date without realizing it coincided with the birthday of the Inebantu, Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom, William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV.
Out of respect for the King, he and his team decided to postpone the show.
We were going to have the concert… but we had chosen the date without realizing that it coincided with the birthday of the Baba, Kyabazinga. We are loyal subjects, so we cannot even try to compete with the Kyabazinga.
He added:
When I realized this, I asked myself, “Who am I to contest the Kyabazinga?” So we decided to cancel the concert, and we will announce new dates. We let the Kyabazinga’s day be his day.
Acidic Vokoz decision highlights his respect for cultural traditions and his loyalty to the Busoga Kingdom.
Fans will have to wait as he finalizes a new date for the event.
