Amooti Promises Epic Laughter as He Marks 25 Years in Comedy

Legendary comedian Allan Mujuni, better known as Amooti Omubalanguzi, is preparing for a major event titled 25 Years of Amooti, scheduled for December 13th at the UMA Show Grounds.

As he celebrates 25 years in the comedy industry, Amooti mentioned that he has been rehearsing for three months, unlike others who prepare for just two weeks. He assured fans that the show will be an epic experience.

Amooti stated that the lineup will include comedians like Kasoto, Kapapali, Eddie Kigere, Small Boy, and other members of the New Amarula family, along with many top Ugandan comedians.

He encouraged fans to bring towels, as the laughter will be so intense it might bring tears.

While some have asked why he has not done a solo show, Amooti explained that, although it is labeled as a one-man show, his team will be with him, cooking up great entertainment for Ugandans.

He took pride in recalling how, even during the pandemic, his Amarula team continued to create content online to keep fans entertained.

Reflecting on his 25-year career, Amooti stated that he is proud of how the comedy industry in Uganda has grown, noting that while there were only a few comedians when he started, there are now thousands, and he is happy to have inspired many of them.

On a different note, he advised parents not to interfere too much in their children’s relationships, citing his own experience with his daughter, Coco.

He mentioned that he does not know whom she will settle down with, and if people are curious, they should ask her, not him.
