Antony Starr Bids Farewell to ‘Homelander’ Role as The Boys Wraps Final Season
Antony Starr has officially said goodbye to his The Boys character, Homelander, as the hit Amazon series wraps filming on its fifth and final season.
The actor called the experience “the highlight” of his career and admitted he needed time to process the end before posting about it.
In an emotional Instagram post filled with behind-the-scenes photos, Starr reflected on the incredible journey of playing the egotistical and dangerously powerful leader of The Seven.
He praised the Canadian crew, the production team, the talented cast, Amazon, Sony, and showrunner Eric Kripke, joking that the network made a “great choice” in casting him.
Starr described Homelander as a “complicated character” that gave him room to explore and push boundaries in ways he never imagined.
He called Kripke his “co-parent” in creating the twisted and unforgettable anti-hero, saying: “We created a monster, sir. And I will miss him, and you.”
He also thanked the fans, calling them the “lifeblood” of the show, and signed off by teasing that the final season will be worth the wait.
The Boys premiered in 2019 and quickly became a pop culture phenomenon, earning critical acclaim and eight Emmy nominations.
The last season is expected next year, but fans can look forward to the spinoff series Gen V returning for its second season on September 17.
