Ugandan Arsenal F.C. Supporters Take Title Celebrations To Church

Arsenal F.C. fans in Uganda are clearly not done celebrating the club’s long awaited Premier League triumph.

Days after Arsenal officially ended their 22 year title drought, some supporters swapped stadium watch parties for Sunday church services, with red jerseys dominating congregations across different parts of the country.

In Hoima, Arsenal supporters gathered at St. Cyprian Catholic Church for a thanksgiving mass led by Rev. Fr. Kirikarama Leonard, while similar scenes unfolded at St. Mark Kikungiri Church in Kabale.

Photos making rounds online showed packed congregations flooded with Arsenal colors, families arriving in matching jerseys, and children fully joining in the celebrations as the excitement around the club’s historic title win continued.

For many supporters, the moment felt bigger than football.

After waiting more than two decades to see Arsenal lift the Premier League trophy again, some fans felt the victory deserved a full thanksgiving service.

The club officially sealed the 2025/26 Premier League title on May 19, ending a painful 22 year wait that had become a running joke among rival fans for years.

Now, from watch parties to church pews, Arsenal supporters are making sure the celebrations continue everywhere possible.
