Be Relevant Through Music, Not Drama, Eddy Kenzo Advises Bebe Cool
Eddy Kenzo has shared some pointed advice for veteran singer Bebe Cool, accusing him of using controversy to stay relevant in the music industry.
Speaking during a media chat, Eddy Kenzo claimed that every year, Bebe Cool deliberately targets a trending artiste in order to remain in the spotlight.
According to Kenzo, the strategy is less about music and more about generating talkability.
He went on to advise Bebe Cool to shift his focus back to the studio and allow music, rather than controversy, to keep him visible.
Every year, Bebe Cool targets someone who is trending, jumps on them, and people start talking about him. My advice to him is to go back to the studio and make good music that people can sing, and be relevant because of the music.
The remarks come shortly after the release of the 2025 “Bebe Cool List,” which left out Eddy Kenzo despite his song, Nkulowozaako, enjoying massive popularity throughout the year.
However, Kenzo reiterated that the list does not bother him, stressing that it is simply Bebe Cool’s personal opinion and not a true reflection of success in the music industry.
