Bebe Cool Aims to Lay the Groundwork for the Next Generation of East African Artistes

Bebe Cool is on a mission to shake up the Ugandan music scene and put East Africa firmly on the global map.

The veteran singer admits he’s racing against time, feeling the pressure to lead this transformation before it is too late.

His latest album, Break The Chains, dropped on May 30 and, according to him, sets a new standard for production and promotion in Uganda.

On the In My Opinion podcast, Bebe Cool reflected on a conversation he had with Joshua Baraka about his plans for the next decade and why the clock is ticking on his vision.

I told Johsua look, you know I like to support because I do not have a long time in the industry in the future. I need Uganda, I need East Africa to open up and come on the table. But I will do that for not more than ten years from now or even a bit less.

He went on to explain that his goal is to create a strong foundation for the next generation of artistes.

I want to make sure that the next generation that comes behind me are using me as facts.
