Music icon Bebe Cool has unveiled his annual Bebe Cool List for 2025, highlighting the artistes, albums, and songs that defined the year and sharing his thoughts on Uganda’s evolving music scene.
The list, which he has released almost every year since the early 2000s, has become a key measure of talent and trends in Ugandan music.
Fans and industry insiders look forward to it, not just for rankings, but for Bebe Cool’s candid insights on who is shaping the industry.
According to Bebe Cool, 2025 was an action-packed year, with younger artistes breaking boundaries and challenging audiences to accept almost anything.
But true progress, he notes, comes from artistes who define the direction of the industry and influence what listeners want.
Bebe Cool Tops the List with “Break The Chains”
At the top of his list is Bebe Cool himself, thanks to his album “Break The Chains.”
The project explores Afrobeat and Afro-tech sounds aimed at global audiences.
While the album’s new style might have faced resistance at home, it found success internationally and reinforced the importance of producing full albums in Uganda’s music scene.
The album includes standout tracks like “Hidden Agendas,” “Cheque” featuring Joshua Baraka, “Home,” “Motivation,” and “Hips Don’t Lie,” making it one of the most significant releases of 2025.
Joshua Baraka Makes Waves
Joshua Baraka emerged as the best young talent in global sound, with his single “Wrong Places” from the 12-track album “Juvie.”
He was praised for standing out in a market dominated by other trends. His performances abroad also show how far his music has reached internationally.
Elijah Kitaka Steals the Spotlight
Elijah Kitaka was recognised as a top local male artiste for the first time, thanks to his involvement in multiple projects including “Ekyange,” “Daily Bundle,” and the “Go Remix” featuring Karole Kasita. Known for his creativity, fashion sense, and unique voice, Kitaka is seen as a rising star poised for global recognition.
Rising Stars and Comebacks
Dax Vybz made the list with tracks like “At My Door” and “Good Idea,” demonstrating talent and independence in the industry.
Kapeke returned with “Kaba,” impressing with catchy hooks and strong stage presence.
Among female artistes, Lydia Jazmine earned a spot for her 16-track album “One & Only,” highlighting the value of full album production.
Vinka was praised for “Lala,” while Sheebah Karungi made a strong post-maternity comeback.
Top Collaborations of the Year
The most outstanding collaboration of 2025 was “See You Tonight” by Cindy Sanyu and Omega 256, with Joshua Baraka’s “Wrong Places” and Elijah Kitaka’s “Ekyange” close behind.
Other notable collaborations included “Kapati” by Alien Skin and Naxx, “Wanula” by Ava Peace and Temperature, “Ekisododo” by Lil Pazo and Latinum, and “Misolo Boka” by Mad King featuring Nandor Love.

Bebe Cool’s 2025 list confirms that Uganda’s music scene is evolving, with fresh sounds, bold artistes, and exciting collaborations leading the way.
It is clear that the industry is not just keeping pace with global trends but is also setting the stage for the next generation of stars.
