Bebe Cool’s Album Needed More Cross-Africa Collaborations for Wider Reach, Says James Propa

Music analyst James Propa recently shared his views on Bebe Cool’s latest album, Break The Chains, which was released on May 30th.

The Afro-inspired project features collaborations with Nigerian singer Yemi Alade, Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka, and Kenyan-born London-based DJ Edu.

Speaking in a media interview, Propa said he enjoyed the entire album but felt it missed a key opportunity to expand its reach.

According to him, the album could have gained more popularity by including collaborations with new and trending artistes from across Africa.

“I liked the songs, but I think the album lacks collaborations that can cut across, especially with new artistes from Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa, which would help boost the numbers,” he said.

Despite this, Propa praised Bebe Cool for the effort and class he showed in promoting the album, especially during the lead-up to its release.
