Beenie Gunter and Elijah Kitaka Clash Over State of Ugandan Music
Dancehall artiste Beenie Gunter has spoken out against fellow singer Elijah Kitaka’s recent comment that there is little to no good music in Uganda right now.
While appearing on NBS After5, Beenie Gunter questioned Kitaka’s statement and asked, “So he is not doing good music himself?”
He explained that even if only a few artistes are making good music, they should be appreciated.
He also said those who are not yet doing well should be encouraged to improve, instead of saying the whole industry is failing.
“You cannot say the whole industry is doing bad music. That is a lie, bro,” he said.
Beenie added that it is not fair to make general statements about the entire industry because there are hardworking musicians doing their best to create quality music.
“There are many artistes making good music. The only problem is that some of them have not yet been seen or heard by the world, so all they need is a platform,” he concluded.
