Beenie Gunter Urges Artistes to Focus on Making Good Music, Not Competition

Beenie Gunter has expressed a different view from fellow artiste Elijah Kitaka, who recently claimed that there is no competition in the Ugandan music industry at the moment.

Speaking during an appearance on NBS After5, the dancehall artiste said that, for him, music is not about competing with others but about completing the mission he set out to achieve.

“For me, it is not about competition. For me, it is about completing the mission. The mission is good,” he said.

He went on to explain that when artistes become too focused on outshining one another, they end up producing what he described as “bubble gum music.”
