Bella Shmurda Raises Alarm Over Rising Music Promotion Costs
Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has expressed concern over the growing cost of music promotion, revealing that many artistes are now hesitant to release new songs or albums.
The “Cash App” hitmaker explained that shooting a single music video now starts at 20 million naira, and promoting an entire album with 10 to 14 songs requires an even bigger budget.
For many artistes, affording videos for five or six tracks at once is nearly impossible.
Bella Shmurda highlighted that while promoting singles is manageable, albums bring huge financial pressure, leaving some artists worried about releasing their work at all.
His warning shines a light on the challenges facing Nigeria’s music industry and the obstacles artistes must overcome to share their music with the world.
