Bobi Wine Lookalike Raises Concern Over Mysterious Calls
A lookalike of Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) has appealed to the public to leave him alone after a surge of calls over the politician’s whereabouts.
Allan Businge, a Mutooro from Tooro, says people keep calling him and asking about Kyagulanyi, mistaking him for someone close to the opposition leader.
I am Allan Businge, from Tooro. I am going through a challenge phase at the moment. I am getting a lot of calls. People ask me where my ‘brother’ went and when he is coming back.
He says the situation worsened after reports that Kyagulanyi left the country, with callers pressing him for answers he does not have.
Businge also raised concern about the origin of the calls, saying some may come from unknown sources.
I do not know where all these phones are coming from; whether some are from security organs; I just wish to let you know that I am not in any way connected to Robert Kyagulanyi. I am a Mutooro man from Tooro.
He explained that he only supported Kyagulanyi during the election period and has since returned to his normal life.
It is true that I supported him during elections like any other Ugandan, but once the campaigns ended, my mind and focus went back to my work. Please leave me alone.
Now, he says the confusion continues to disrupt his life and wants the calls to stop.
