Britney Spears Arrested on Suspicion of DUI in California
Pop star Britney Spears was arrested in Ventura County on suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to reports, the singer was stopped by the California Highway Patrol on the night of March 4 at around 9:30 p.m.
Spears was reportedly handcuffed at the scene before being taken into custody.
She was later booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department jail early Thursday morning.
Authorities confirmed she was released a few hours later under California’s cite and release process for misdemeanor offences.
Officials have not released further details about the incident, including whether any accident occurred or the results of sobriety tests.
The singer has not publicly commented on the arrest, and her representatives have yet to respond.
Spears is expected to appear in court on May 4, 2026.
