Bruce Melodie Urges Ugandan Collaborators to Show Up in Rwanda
Rwandan singer Bruce Melodie has thrown a challenge to Ugandan artistes, especially those he collaborates with, saying it is time they return the favour.
The hitmaker has built a strong presence in Uganda through regular performances, media visits, and song premieres.
His consistency has helped him grow a loyal following and keep his music active on local airwaves.
But he now says the exchange has not been balanced.
According to Bruce Melodie, while he keeps travelling to promote collaborations and meet fans, many Ugandan stars are not making similar moves in Kigali.
I visit. You know I come here to the TV stations to premiere my music and everything, but they never come to Kigali. I have been calling Pallaso for like five years now. He couldn’t come to Kigali. I do not know what is going on, but they do not want us. So, Ugandan artistes, you should visit Kigali.
He maintains that the songs they create together do well in Rwanda.
However, he says success on paper is not enough without physical connection.
Of course they did. They performed well, but you know, if you do not show up and connect with people directly, something is missing. So I think that is the only problem they have because they do not come more often to Kigali… They do not show up, but the songs are there and they are big. They should come and collect their money.
If the music is already crossing to Rwanda, Bruce Melodie believes the artistes should too.
