Central Cee Converts to Islam and Changes His Name
British rapper Central Cee has announced a major life change: he has converted to Islam.
The “Band 4 Band” hitmaker revealed his new faith during a livestream, taking his shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith, and changing his name.
Friends in the video celebrated the moment as he confirmed that he is now a Muslim.
Central Cee, born Oakley Neil Caesar-Su on 4 June 1998 in London, grew up in Shepherd’s Bush with his mother and two younger brothers after his parents separated.
He began his music career in 2014 with a small appearance on the Fire in the Streets series and made his first song appearance on the “Ain’t On Nuttin” Remix with J Hus in 2015.
His breakout single Day in the Life dropped in 2020, cementing his status as a superstar in the UK drill scene.
