Chameleone Reveals How His Planned Quiet Return from the US Turned into a Heroic Homecoming
Jose Chameleone, who was greeted with a hero’s welcome at Entebbe International Airport after his treatment in the United States for acute pancreatitis, shared that he had hoped for a quiet return to Uganda.
In an interview during his stay in Kenya for routine medical check-ups, the “Mama Mia” hitmaker shared that he had only informed a few close friends.
However, word spread quickly, and before long, nearly the entire country knew about his arrival.
“I wanted to come back silently but it failed. I told a few friends who told other friends, and before I knew it, there were so many people,” he explained.
Reflecting on the overwhelming reception at the airport, Chameleone admitted that it served as a wake-up call.
The massive turnout made him realize the importance of taking better care of his health.
“It is like an alert to me. It makes me learn to be a little bit more responsible with myself, my health, and taking care of myself,” he remarked.
Chameleone also shared that seeing how many people cared about him made him realize that he is not just living for himself, but for everyone around him.
“When I look at the people concerned like that, it means I am not for only me but for everybody. So, it is a big lesson for me,” he said.
With this realization, the singer announced that he has quit alcohol and cigarettes for good, focusing on living a healthier lifestyle moving forward.
