Chance Nalubega Fights to Reclaim Rights to Her Music

Chance Nalubega has spoken out after discovering that she cannot fully benefit from music she says she personally created and funded.

The veteran singer shared the discovery on Facebook while tracking her songs on digital streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify.

During the process, she noticed that a company identified as The Orchard Music Distributors had already claimed the rights to the tracks.

However, Nalubega says she never signed any agreement with the distributor and does not understand how it gained control over her music.

She added that copyright claims appear whenever she tries to upload the songs herself.

Nalubega stressed that she wrote the music, paid for the recording sessions, and financed the production of the music videos.

Now, she says she is seeking clarification from the company and will continue pursuing the matter until she receives clear answers.

Who are the Orchard Music Distributors? We have a big problem as Ugandan artistes. Can you imagine they claimed my music as their own and are earning money from it? I do not have permission to monitor my own music? I composed my music, took myself to the studio, and put together money for videos without anyone’s help. Now, someone comes from nowhere claiming my songs. I will not allow it.
