Chiwetalu Agu Says Prayer Alone Cannot End Poverty
Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has sparked conversation online, insisting that prayers alone cannot end poverty.
In a viral video shared on X, the actor dismissed the idea that poverty can simply be prayed away.
Agu emphasized that lasting prosperity comes through hard work and diligence.
He said prayer is powerful, but without effort, it cannot produce results.
Yes, prayer connects you to divine wisdom and favour, but work is the channel through which blessings manifest.
According to him, divine favor only manifests when combined with action.
He urged Nigerians, and people in general, to abandon the “manna mentality” and embrace hard work.
Poverty does not die by fire. I repeat, poverty cannot die by fire, pray from now to tomorrow if you do not work hard, poverty will deal with you.
Even with prayer, success requires participation.
Agu warned that poverty will persist for anyone who refuses to act, stressing that God blesses effort, not idleness.
