Chosen Becky To Celebrities: When Fans Are Excited to See You, Embrace Them, Do Not Turn Them Away
Singer Chosen Becky, real name Rebecca Kukiriza, shared a powerful message about the responsibilities that come with fame and the importance of appreciating fans.
In her heartfelt reflection on TikTok, she addresses why some public figures shun their supporters and reminds them to always remember their roots.
“Why is it that when God blesses someone with a name, whether as a singer, TikToker, comedian, or any other public figure, and they reach a level where people get excited to see them, calling out their name, taking out their phones to record or take selfies, they sometimes shun these fans?” Chosen Becky asked.
She pointed out that some celebrities, despite being surrounded by people excited to see them, ask those around them to shield them or roll up their windows to avoid being seen or recorded.
While acknowledging that everyone has bad days, she emphasized that this should not be an excuse for constantly rejecting fans.
“Do you know how many people are praying to make a name for themselves? You out there who have a name, do you know the favor and blessing God has placed upon you?” she said.
Chosen Becky highlighted that many people have wealth but no recognition, and some even pay others to talk about them just to get attention.
She questioned why those who prayed for fame and got it now find it burdensome.
“We prayed for names and fame, so why is it becoming a heavy burden?” she asked. “You asked God for a name, He gave it to you, so why avoid and reject people?”
She reminded everyone that fame comes with a price but also brings blessings.
“A name comes with fame, love, and favor. Why are we not appreciative?” she said, urging her fellow public figures to embrace these gifts.
Chosen Becky also stressed that the joy and excitment fans express comes from a place of love.
“Let us always remember our people because they love us, and that excitement is out of love. Yes, there are people who do not wish the best for us, but they are few,” she noted.
She added that in Uganda, people in different entertainment fields, whether singers, TikTokers, or comedians, are all the same in the eyes of fans.
“I am a singer, another is a TikToker, another is a comedian, but we are all the same, and fans will love us the same,” she noted.
“Do not blame them when, after getting excited to see you, they get excited to see someone else. They will love you and love someone else. Our fans love us all,” she explained.
In closing, Chosen Becky encouraged her peers to embrace their blessings.
“Let us embrace what God has blessed us with because you do not know how many people are yearning for it,” she concluded.
