Chris Brown’s Defamation Lawsuit Ends in Dismissal
Chris Brown’s attempt to clear his name through the courts has failed.
The RnB singer had filed a massive lawsuit after a 2024 documentary, Chris Brown: A History of Violence, put fresh attention on allegations of abuse and misconduct linked to him.
Brown wanted 500 million dollars in damages, accusing Warner Bros. Discovery and producer Ample LLC of defaming him.
He argued that the film pushed claims he says were not reliable, including a 2020 accusation involving an unnamed woman.
But the case did not go far.
A judge in Los Angeles threw out the complaint after reviewing the documentary.
The court ruled that the film stayed within acceptable reporting practices and treated the topic as a matter of public interest.
With that decision, Brown’s legal move ends for now, despite the huge amount of money involved.
Neither side has issued a public response since the dismissal.
