Cindy Sanyu Says Retirement Is Not an Option

By Brian Macona

Cindy Sanyu, born Cinderella Sanyu, has made it clear she has no plans to slow down.

Speaking to Sanyuka Uncut, the songstress opened up about her latest collaboration with Western Uganda–based singer Omega 256, calling the experience truly inspiring.

You know… I have worked with a lot of artistes in my time. Some brilliant, some bold, some that just leave you speechless. But Omega 256? She is on another level. One of the most talented artists I have ever worked with. Her vision, her precision, there is a spark in her work that does not come around often.

Cindy revealed that working with artistes like Omega 256 keeps her creative fire alive.

Working with someone like Omega 256? That kind of talent fuels me. So no, I am not going anywhere. Not while artistes like her are still pushing boundaries. Not while there is still fire in my brush.

The 40-year-old star also brushed off questions about retirement, insisting she is far from putting the microphone down.

People ask me all the time, ‘Cindy, you are 40 now. When are you going to slow down? Maybe think about retirement?’ Retirement? Please. I am just getting started. There is too much art to make, too many minds to collaborate with.

Fans can expect even more exciting projects as Cindy continues to push the boundaries of art and music, proving that age is just a number when passion leads the way.
