Cindy Shares Insights on Becoming a Confident, Outspoken Artiste

Cindy has opened up about her journey to becoming one of Uganda’s most confident and outspoken artistes, sharing lessons she has learned along the way.

She reflected on how challenging it was to find her voice in the music industry and the patience it took to know when and how to speak her truth.

She explained that speaking her mind did not happen overnight and that it required building credibility and a strong platform.

About confidence and speaking my mind, I have accumulated it over time. It did not just happen. I did not come into the game talking the way I talk now. No. I had to first accumulate my weight to the point where I felt I was heavy enough to talk, to speak my mind. That cannot be done by an artiste who has just started.

Cindy also offered guidance for young artistes just starting out, emphasizing the importance of timing and discretion in expressing their views.

When you have just started, I am not saying you should lie you do not need to lie but certain truths you need to keep to yourself until you reach the point where you have the right platform and your fans are ready for it. Then you can speak them. Not everybody is ready for it at the beginning, but you cannot stay silent forever either. When you are heavy, then speak heavy.

She shared these insights during an appearance on Horizon Vibe, highlighting that confidence grows with experience, and knowing when to speak your truth is just as important as having something to say.
