Craig David, Cindy, and Dax Vibez: Myko Ouma Addresses August 29 Concert Overlaps
It is a concert clash like no other, and fans are already feeling the pressure.
August 29 is gearing up to be one of the busiest nights on Kampala’s entertainment calendar, with three major shows all fighting for the spotlight.
Top of the list? The World of Sounds concert at Sheraton Kampala Hotel, headlined by British R&B icon Craig David.
But wait, Cindy Sanyu and Dax Vibez are also throwing down on the very same night.
With chaos looming, many have wondered, could someone have moved their date?
Enter celebrated Afro-jazz guitarist Myko Ouma, who is among the performers at World of Sounds.
Speaking to Daily Soup at Noni Vie shortly after the event’s press conference, he offered clarity and calm.
Everyone was organizing separately, and the announcements just happened to come out around the same time.
According to Ouma, switching dates is not as easy as it sounds, especially when international stars are involved.
When you are dealing with foreign acts, changing dates is not simple. They have packed tour schedules, and if you try to move the agreed date, you might not get them back until June next year.
Still, Ouma sees the triple concerts as a symptom of a blossoming entertainment industry, not sabotage.
Concert overlaps do not necessarily mean that one is interrupting the other. Each team is promoting their event and doing the best they can. At the end of the day, people will choose where they want to be and they will go there and enjoy themselves.
And in true showbiz spirit, Ouma had nothing but love for the other acts bringing heat on the same day.
I wish nothing but success for all the concerts on that day.
