D Star Explains Why He Quit Ugandan Collaborations
D Star says he stepped away from Ugandan collaborations after repeatedly finding himself pushing songs alone.
Speaking on Star Connect, the “Hoozambe” sensation described how some artistes record a song with him, then step back once it drops, leaving him to handle the promotion.
I do not want a situation where I have done a song or asked you for a collaboration, then you sit back. We have a song, I call you to come, we do challenges for the song, and you do not show up or take part. I do not want that, and that is why I gave up on Ugandan collaborations.

In the past, D Star pointed to specific cases where he gave opportunities to artistes like Kapeke and Gloria Bugie when his name carried weight, but they did not promote the songs after release.
He also warned upcoming artistes against remixing their own hit songs, saying collaborators who fail to follow up can limit a song’s potential.
D Star now treats collaborations as a shared responsibility that must continue beyond recording, otherwise he walks away.
