Davido Joins Recording Academy, Gains Voice in Grammy Voting
Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has joined the Recording Academy as a voting member ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards.
This role allows him to take part in selecting the winners each year.
Davido described the opportunity as a “gamechanger” and said it gives artistes influence over what music gets recognised.
He called joining the prestigious body an honour and said he is ready to take part in the process.
The singer previously earned three Grammy nominations in 2024 without a win.
His fourth nomination came with his collaboration with Chris Brown and Lojay on “Sensational,” which was nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammys but lost to Tems’ “Love Me Jeje.”
Davido’s induction into the Recording Academy marks another milestone in his growing influence on the global music stage.
