DDG Says Streaming Brings in More Money Than Music

American rapper and streamer DDG has stirred conversation after sharing his view on where the real money is in entertainment.

During a recent livestream with Nigerian streamer Carterefe, DDG explained that content creation brings in more income than making music.

According to him, streaming has grown into a stronger source of revenue compared to record sales and music platforms.

The Los Angeles based star knows both worlds well.

He started uploading content online in 2014, long before his rap career took off.

His steady rise on YouTube helped him build a loyal following and a solid income stream.

Music came later. In 2016, DDG stepped into the industry professionally and soon gained attention with the song “Givenchy,” which appeared on his debut EP “Take Me Serious” in 2017.

The project helped push his name beyond the internet space and into mainstream music.

As his online success grew, DDG made a major life decision. He dropped out of Central Michigan University to focus fully on content creation, a move that clearly paid off.

At 28 years old, DDG continues to balance music and streaming, and his message is simple. In today’s digital age, being live online can be more profitable than being in the studio.
