Diddy Seeks Prison Transfer to Access Drug Treatment Program

Sean Combs, known to the world as Diddy, is asking a court to allow him to serve his prison sentence at a facility in New Jersey so he can take part in a special drug treatment program.

His lawyers say this move would help him rehabilitate and also make it easier for his family to visit.

On October 3, 2025, Diddy was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison after being convicted of transporting individuals for prostitution, a violation of the federal Mann Act.

He was acquitted of other charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

His sentence also includes a $500,000 fine and 5 years of supervised release.

Diddy has already served 13 months at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, which will be credited toward his sentence.

His legal team filed a request with United States District Judge Arun Subramanian asking that Diddy be placed at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey.

They said the prison offers the Residential Drug Abuse Program, the most intensive treatment program for drug abuse in the Bureau of Prisons.

Successful completion of the program could reduce his time behind bars.

The request also noted that Fort Dix offers educational and vocational programs that could help with his rehabilitation.

The final decision on where Diddy will serve his sentence rests with the Bureau of Prisons, but the judge’s recommendation could carry weight.

If approved, Diddy could complete his sentence in a setting designed to help him change while staying close to family.
