Nimrod Plans to Give His Mother Shs1m from DJs SACCO Funds

DJ Nimrod has fired back at critics attacking him over the Shs110 million secured for DJs through a SACCO, warning that those insulting him should not expect to benefit from the initiative.

The United DJs Association Uganda (UDAU) president spoke out after some DJs questioned how the money obtained from the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) will be handled.

Appearing on Spark TV, he dismissed the attacks and said he does not even recognize some of the people criticizing him.

Have they ever done a show? Have they been abroad before? I do not know those ones criticizing me and abusing me.

The funding, received on March 11, is meant to help DJs access loans through a SACCO to grow their creative businesses.

DJ Nimrod said the Shs110 million has already been deposited on the association’s account, which he currently manages.

He added that the SACCO leadership will work with the treasurer to ensure the money benefits registered DJs while dismissing accusations that he mishandled the funds.

He also revealed that he plans to take Shs1 million from the fund to appreciate his mother.

I have got Shs110 million for the DJs and I am going to give Shs1 million to my mother to thank her for giving birth to me. The rest of the money will be handled together with the treasurer and we see how to distribute it among fellow DJs.

DJ Nimrod added that meetings were held with DJs to explain how the SACCO will operate, noting that priority will go to DJs officially registered under the association.

The money is entitled to every DJ but mostly to those that are registered in our association which is under the federation.
