DJ Nimrod Warns Against Provoking Former Gang-Linked Artistes
Renowned Ugandan music curator, DJ Nimrod, weighed in on criminal gangs in the music industry during a live Kasuku interview.
He praised singer Kalifah AgaNaga for evolving beyond the thug lifestyle.
“If he decided to bring back his gang, somebody would die,” Nimrod said, highlighting Kalifah’s reputation as a “bad boy” who has outgrown gang affiliations and focused on making better music.
Discussing other artistes and their gangs, Nimrod described Fik Gaza’s camp as “just a group of young unruly boys,” showing that not all musicians have left gang culture behind.
He also listed Chameleone, Pallaso, Kalifah, and Gravity Omutujju as artistes with the most notorious gang connections at various points in their careers.
Nimrod added that when provoked, an artiste’s past can resurface.
“People should not to provoke artistes who have moved on from the thug life,” he concluded.
