Drake Targeted in Spotify Fake Stream Lawsuit
Rapper RBX has filed a lawsuit in California claiming Spotify allowed fake streams to inflate Drake’s numbers.
The case says billions of plays were not real, costing other artistes hundreds of millions in royalties.
The lawsuit highlights unusual activity in 2024. In four days, 250,000 plays of Drake’s song “No Face” reportedly moved from Turkey to the U.K. via VPNs.
Less than 2 percent of listeners accounted for 15 percent of all streams, raising doubts about their authenticity.
RBX argues Spotify’s anti-fraud measures favor shareholders over musicians.

Spotify denies the claims, citing its fraud detection technology.
Drake is not accused of running bots, only of benefiting from them.
The case follows Drake’s recent accusation that Universal Music Group inflated Kendrick Lamar’s streams, a claim that was dismissed.
Now even the King of Streams faces scrutiny over how plays are counted and royalties distributed.
