Eddy Kenzo Denies Blocking Musicians from NRM Campaign Events
Singer Eddy Kenzo has dismissed social media claims that he stopped some musicians from performing at NRM campaign events, calling the reports false and misleading.
The rumors suggested a clash with Bebe Cool over artiste selection, alleging that Kenzo favored regional performers while limiting appearances from central based stars.
Kenzo responded by setting the record straight, emphasizing that his goal was never to block anyone, but to ensure fair representation across Uganda.
If artistes from one area perform several times while others hardly get a chance, that is not fair.
He went on to clarify his intentions:
“All I wanted was for musicians from upcountry regions to also benefit from these shows. Those of us from the central can still be part of it… Just not dominate.”
Kenzo added that the focus was on balance and empowerment rather than competition.
Performing in their own regions, he said, allows artistes to build confidence and connect more with local fans.
By spreading opportunities across the country, Kenzo believes the music industry can grow stronger and more united, giving every artist a fair chance to thrive.
