The singer and presidential adviser on creatives quickly became the center of online debate after images surfaced appearing to show a man dressed in yellow removing him from a seat next to his wife, State Minister for Minerals Phiona Nyamutoro.

Within hours, social media users concluded that Kenzo was chased from the VIP area over seating protocol issues.

But according to the singer, the internet created drama out of something that never happened.

Speaking on Sanyuka TV’s Uncut, he insisted nobody touched or chased him during the ceremony.

That was not true. No one touched me. No one chased me. The Foreign Affairs protocol team was in charge. They sat us very well and we enjoyed the ceremony. Everything else, we also just saw online.

Kenzo also rejected the viral images, claiming online users manipulated photos using AI to push a false narrative.

That man they showed touching me, I did not see him. I did not see anyone in yellow coming to touch me anywhere. The people in charge of seating guests were from Foreign Affairs, not NRM. They just put him there using AI. There are people who know how to use AI to alter images.

He also questioned why anyone would think he forced himself into an event where guests followed official invitation protocol.

I cannot go to an event I was not invited to. I was invited, and where my invitation indicated I should sit is exactly where I sat. I do not think I can invite myself to an event I was not invited to.

Kenzo further reminded critics that he attended the ceremony officially as a senior government official.
