Eddy Kenzo Falls Short in Second Grammy Attempt

Eddy Kenzo’s second Grammy attempt ended without a win, but the Ugandan singer continues to break ground internationally.

At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, Eddy Kenzo earned a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category for “Hope & Love,” a collaboration with Mehran Matin.

The award went to South African star Tyla for “Push 2 Start.”

Kenzo, however, did not attend the ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, California, saying earlier that urgent personal matters kept him home.

His Grammy journey began earlier, with his first nomination coming in 2023 at the 65th awards for “Gimme Love” with American artiste Matt B, making him the first Ugandan-based artiste to earn a Grammy nod.

Even without a win, Kenzo’s repeated nominations highlight his global reach and keep Uganda represented on music’s biggest stage.
