Eddy Kenzo Reveals Visa-Related Issues Behind Grammy Night Absence

It is the question many fans have been asking, and now Eddy Kenzo has finally provided an answer.

The Ugandan star has opened up about why he missed the Grammy Awards on February 1 at the Crypto.com Arena, despite earning a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category.

Just days before the glamorous ceremony, Kenzo had said he would not attend because of urgent personal matters.

But that explanation only fueled more curiosity, with many wondering what could possibly keep him away from one of music’s biggest nights.

Now, in a phone interview on KFM, the singer has clarified the situation, revealing that it was a visa-related issue.

I was very busy during that time of the campaign, so I submitted very late to renew my visa. My visa is not processed here. It is renewed in the US based on my profession, and I travel on a professional visa.

Even though he missed the red carpet experience, Kenzo said he still followed the ceremony.

Yes, I did watch.

The award eventually went to South African star Tyla, but Kenzo’s fans at least now have clarity on why he could not make the trip.
