Elton John Opens Up About Living with Partial Blindness

Elton John has revealed he has been living with partial blindness for more than a year.

The 78-year-old singer lost vision in his right eye after an eye infection and now has only limited sight in his left.

Speaking to the Guardian, Elton said the condition has been challenging, but he has stayed positive.

He admitted some days have been tough, yet he refuses to let it stop him from enjoying life.

Having faced addiction and serious health problems in the past, Elton said he is determined to overcome this new obstacle.

He hopes his eyesight will improve in the months ahead.

This is not going to beat me. I have beaten addiction, I have beaten health issues, and I can pick myself up and dust myself off.

He also shared that the experience has given him a deeper appreciation for people who are blind or sight-impaired and that he has been in touch with some who inspire him.

I have a new respect for sight-impaired people and people who are totally blind, some of whom I am in touch with. But to hell with it, I have a great life, and hopefully my sight will improve.

Despite the setback, Elton says he remains focused on living fully and making the most of each day.
