Eric Omondi Mobilizes Nairobi Residents for Flood Clean Up Drive

Deadly floods that recently hit Nairobi have triggered a citywide clean up effort led by comedian Eric Omondi.

Omondi has asked residents to gather this Saturday at Uhuru Park at 8 am to help clear garbage blocking the city’s drainage systems.

Participants have been asked to bring brooms, rakes, gloves and masks.

The floods caused deaths and property damage across several neighborhoods.

Many residents believe clogged drains filled with waste worsened the disaster.

Omondi says the clean up is part of his SisiKwaSisi campaign, which promotes community action and shared responsibility.
