Faith Is About the Heart, Not Appearance — Nathalie Makoma

Ahead of the group’s March 6 concert at Kololo Independence Grounds, Nathalie Makoma has opened up about faith, image, and the criticism the gospel family group Makoma once faced.

Looking back, she reflected on the group’s journey and the questions people raised about their appearance.

At a time when many believed gospel artistes had to follow a strict look, Makoma stood out with piercings, tattoos, and a bold style.

Because of this, some people wondered how they could look that way and still sing for God.

Nathalie said the group never tried to impress people, explaining that their songs were simply expressions of worship from the heart.

For her, singing for God is about the heart, not appearance.

She also spoke about God’s promises, saying obedience, love for others, generosity, and prayer bring lasting blessings.

She added that when God blesses someone, no one can reverse it.
