Falz Speaks Out on Nigeria’s Tribal and Religious Divide
Nigerian singer and activist Falz has spoken out about what he calls the country’s growing tribal and religious divide.
The star weighed in after fellow musician Nasboi urged Nigerians to put aside differences and hold leaders accountable.
Nasboi criticized politicians for taking citizens for granted while amassing wealth they cannot even spend, calling on people to put the nation first.
We have really kept quiet in this country. Reminiscing stories like ‘snake swallowing money.’ These politicians really take us for granted. busy stealing money they cannot finish on earth. It is time to put our tribes and religions aside. Put this Country first.
Falz said it has been heartbreaking to see tribal and religious sentiments still used to pit Nigerians against one another.
He urged citizens to think independently and not let politicians manipulate them.
I cannot begin to explain how depressing it has been in recent years, seeing tribal and religious sentiments still being used to turn us against each other. At some point we need to start thinking for ourselves.

The discussion comes amid heated online clashes between Christian and Muslim youths, following US President Donald Trump’s warning to intervene in Nigeria over alleged attacks on Christians by Islamic extremists.
