Fame Does Not Make Us Superhuman, Says Kenyan Artiste Bensoul

Kenyan singer-songwriter Bensoul is shedding light on the pressures and misconceptions that often come with life in the spotlight.

Speaking on “It’s Never That Serious,” a podcast hosted by Sabrina Agasha, the soulful artiste opened up about how musicians are often misunderstood.

According to him, one of the most common misconceptions is the belief that musicians are somehow more than human.

Most of them feel like we are superhuman, like we are not normal humans. I feel like most of the people who compare themselves to artistes think we are on another level.

He went on to emphasize that being an artiste does not make him any more special than anyone else.

In his view, music is simply a path like any other.

But music is just a career like any other. I am just a guy following his heart, like anyone else. The only difference is that people happen to know me, but in God’s eyes, we are all the same.

Bensoul’s words show that fame does not take away a person’s humanity.

Behind the flashing lights and cameras is always someone simply trying to make their way through life like anyone else.
