Fela Kuti’s Daughter Blasts Wizkid Over “I’m Bigger Than Fela” Comment

The Wizkid and Kuti family drama has taken a new turn after Motunrayo Kuti, daughter of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, came for the Starboy boss over his recent comment.

Wizkid had earlier responded to Seun Kuti’s criticism and went on to claim he is bigger than Seun’s father, Fela.

The statement immediately triggered backlash from music lovers who see Fela as a cultural symbol, not just an artiste.

Motunrayo has now reacted publicly in a heated video, accusing Wizkid of disrespecting her father’s legacy.

She did not hold back in her response, dragging his family background and bringing up his personal life, including his relationships and past choices.

Wizkid, you said you are bigger than Fela, right? Wizkid, you are also bigger than your useless father, who abandoned you and your mum, who is now late. Since you said you are bigger than our own father, you are also bigger than your father, Muniru Olatunji Balogun. And our father is definitely bigger than your father and mother.

She told Wizkid that the same disrespect he is showing now could return to him later, adding that people will eventually rubbish his legacy too.

Her comments have now added more fire to the growing tension between Wizkid and the Kuti family, as fans continue to argue over the “bigger than Fela” claim.
