Fik Fameica Says He Built His Career Alone, No Help from Pallaso
Ugandan rapper Fik Fameica has responded to claims that fellow singer Pallaso played a significant role in launching his music career.
Speaking to Sanyuka Uncut, the “Buligita” hit-maker made it clear that he did not rise through Pallaso’s help in any way.
When did he ever mentor me? And how? I have never been under his wing.
Fik described Pallaso as a friend and brother but insisted that he does not owe him credit for his career.
I was under my own wing because I am the one who came up with my very first song, and I have done everything myself since then.
He went on to explain what he believes support and mentorship look like in the music industry.
When someone takes you under their wing, it usually means they played a major role in your career. Like managing you, giving you studio time, or collaborating with you. But in my case, I started everything on my own and recorded my first songs by myself.
Although Fik maintains that he was never under anyone’s wing, he acknowledged Geosteady as one of the musicians he started out with.
